After Samsung, it’s now Apple iPhone to introduce punch-hole displays despite the supply chain constraints they are dealing with right now. According to TheElec, iPhone 14 Pro will bring a 48MP punch-hole selfie camera instead of the 12MP camera for the customers.
To sport the new look, we’ll see LG display LTPO with 120Hz OLED panels in the 6.06 inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7 inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, the entry-level models won’t offer LTPO display and 120Hz refresh rates. But the non-Pro iPhone models will still have a notch on top of the screen while their displays will come from BOE.
A rumor has been going that by 2023, BOE will be supplying LTPO panels for the new iPhone 15 series. The Apple iPhone series is likely to bring out a more refined iPhone SE model by 2022, mostly the same but better.
Also, Apple has a fundamental trick up its sleeve to boost the performance of the new iPhone. They’re adding ARMv9 architecture, a new chip design that might increase the performance by 30%.
So, it’ll be a good idea to wait a while for this to come out before purchasing a new phone this Christmas.
