EXCLUSIVE: OnePlus 8 Series Leaked! What We Know So Far

It is believed that the oxygen of OnePlus lies in its phones. OnePlus hasn’t released any phone yet in this year but the company doesn’t seem to slow down. The rumors of the OnePlus 8 series are flying high in the sky. Well, what can we expect from this year’s flagship from the company? OnePlus has already hyped up showing so many leaks of what to come. Let’s start hiking.

OnePlus, the Chinese manufacturer, is rumored to conquer the mobile market with its new high-end OnePlus 8 series smartphones. OnePlus doesn’t wish to forget its trend. It will be revealing three smartphones- OnePlus 8 lite, OnePlus 8 and the big guy, OnePlus 8 Pro. The OnePlus 8 Lite will be a concern for the mid-ranger killers. Until we hear more names from OnePlus, let’s continue with these three cause OnePlus comes with a more high-end sibling of a series.

The presentation of the OnePlus 8 series will take place on April 15, 2020. As we heard from leaks, the introduction of OnePlus 8 lite had been postponed due to the effects of the novel Coronavirus. It’s all whispers to hear. We’ll update you as soon as the date is announced.

Surprisingly, the OnePlus 8 series might be the worthy rival to Samsung Galaxy S20 series, recently launched Xiaomi Mi 10 and Huawei P40 series. The rumors of earlier leaks and numbers might be a great concern for the rivals to panic.

One Plus 8

OnePlus 8 is going to be the modest version of this series. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with up to 2.84 GHz Octacore, which provides 5G connectivity with the Snapdragon X55 modem. OxygenOS 10.0 will be operating the phone, based on Android 10.0. OxygenOS is the signature feature from OnePlus for its better and smooth performance. Leak claims a 4300mAh battery will flame the phone via 30W fast charging technology, Warp charger, bundled with USB C port.

In terms of design, the OnePlus 8 will be a slight different from its predecessor, the OnePlus 7. The renders show that it will be seizing a 6.55-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with curved edges. It might be named Waterfall display. Instead of a whole display, it’ll have a punch-hole cutout rather than a pop up mechanism. The Fluid AMOLED signature confirms that the company continues with 90 Hertz display in this phone as well. There is also a fingerprint reader directly below the display surface with which the smartphone can be unlocked quickly and securely. As usual, the OnePlus button layout keeps its survival with the volume rocker on the left and the power button and the alert slider on the right.

The disappointing part we hear is that, there is no IP rating mentioned in the leaks which is real bummer and no 3.5mm port. The company competes with brands like Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi and many more at their flagship price range. As it dropped the image of affordable devices to flagship pricing, it shouldn’t be skipping these two catchy features.

Further, In addition to the front camera, the notch meets a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The rear camera system is arranged in a fashion centered, vertically aligned lineup. There is probably a 48 megapixel sensor with an F / 1.8 aperture for the main camera and a 16- Megapixel camera for wide-angle shots and a 2-megapixel sensor for depth information. This isn’t much changed as we expected from the older ones.

While we talk about spacing, official renders say that 8GB of RAM and 128GB faster UFS flash or 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS flash memory are installed in the OnePlus 8. It will light up three editions- Green, Blue and Black with more gradient finish.

OnePlus 8 Pro

A heap of leaks has been revealed about OnePlus 8 Pro. The high-end sibling will enroll with a curved QHD+ Fluid AMOLED panel of 6.78inches and HDR 10+ support. 10-bit HDR will always be turned on. With HDR support, the OnePlus 8 Pro will apparently peak at 1400nits for more bright colors. Corning Gorilla Glass 6 will be layered in both panels for protecting the phone with IP68 rating mentioned.

The phone is going to be a better version of its predecessor along with this featured specs. As we saw on renders, the company may have appeared to abandon the pop up feature, instead of opting with punch-hole gesture. A punch-hole cutout in display is also set with a 16-megapixel selfie snapper.

The OnePlus 8 Pro doesn’t wish to miss the trend of the latest chipset. Supporting the 5G connectivity, the phone will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC on board, based on Android 10. With the 120Hz refresh rate, the OxygenOS 10 will be optimized for smoother and faster performance. In addition, the company reports mention the improved “Haptics 2.0”.

As far as cameras go, OnePlus 8 Pro could feature Samsung’s 108MP beast sensor while other giant flagships of 2020 are opting its primary camera with this sensor. Maybe OnePlus doesn’t believe in larger pixel size rather than believing in pixel’s software system. Let’s know what we heard.

According to leaks, the OnePlus 8 Pro will have essentially the same design of camera bump. The quad camera module is aligned vertically plus a 3D ToF sensor which is next to the camera bump. The eye gazed feature is two 48MP cameras will be working in it. An OIS optimized 48MP primary sensor will be captured for wide angle shots, followed by 48MP 3x optical zoom for ultra-wide shooters. Two more cameras will assist the main, 8MP for ultra-wide shots and 5MP for depth intelligence effects like bokeh shots.

On the battery performance, a 4510mAh cell is rumored to pack inside of OnePlus 8 Pro. Major upgrade came from OnePlus. The company called for wireless charging to sneak in. The phone will leaped up with 30W fast charging and 30W fast wireless charging. A 30W reversible charging will opt in it. USB C cable is suggested for charging. Hopefully the battery will have a meaningful effect based on performance.

The OnePlus 8 Pro will be featuring 8GB or 12G of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 flash storage will operate the spacing. There could be the possibility of more storage showing up in further leaks. You will be able to purchase the phone in three shades- Blue, Black and Green.

OnePlus 8 Lite

You might overpass the idea of OnePlus to provide a cheaper model of OnePlus 8. Well, you are wrong to think of it. OnePlus will play a wild card on the hands. Official renders mentioned that the little member of the family may arrive alongside the pro siblings on 15th April, though it’s just a rumor. The leaks suggested that the lite version will have similar display design as others with thick bezels shaped around the flat display.

According to official leaks, the OnePlus 8 lite will be a solid sub-flagship device to be provided with flagship spec. But a handful of rumors noted that the phone might not launch until launch considering the present situation. Hope to see the company will be announcing it alongside other OnePlus 8 series.

Leaked specs mentioned that the phone is said to have a 6.4inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate side by side 2400 x 1080 resolution. The front display is meant to be flat whereas the rear is a 2.5D curved glass panel. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and IP53 rating is mentioned to protect the phone. But here we got no sign of a 3.5mm socket which seems to be available in affordable devices. However, the 90Hz refresh rate remains to be the same as old OnePlus phones. The unique selling point in this phone is the fast refresh rate in a mid-range phone.

A couple of substantial leaks has decorated us with OnePlus 8 lite details. OnePlus might be making this phone more affordable for consumers by going with MediaTek. The Dimensity is a 5G SoC which states that this could be a 5G affordable handset. The phone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000, equipped with 4000mAh battery which will be booted via 30W Warp charge. USB C cable mentioned to charge the phone. The Android 10 version will be powering with OxygenOS 10.

The biggest thing about the design is the pronounced camera housing on back. The trend established by the iPhone 11 pro seems to be following here as well. A leaked spec sheet announced that the trio camera array sports a 48-megapixel primary sensor, assisted by 16-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and 12-megapixel for telephoto lens. The punch-hole housing at the front sits at the helm with a 16-megapixel lens.

The rumors mentioned the device might be available in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. As an affordable mid-range, we might notice 6GB RAM support in future.

As well as other phones from OnePlus 8 series, the phone will be colored in three shades- Black, Blue and Green.

These are all rumors we have come across with so far. For now, we would advise you to take them with a grain of salt. We’ll inform you as soon as the new spec sheet comes. Till then keep in touch.
